WOW!– another fantastic WOWS trip

July 16, 2014

We spent three fantastic days with 16 WOWS participants, three guest scientists and three MOSS instructors. The WOWS girls were inquisitive, fun, and adventurous. We explored the river corridor learning about hydrology, flora and fauna. We swam, played and all worked hard to make this trip a success.

This video captures it all in three minutes: title=”WOWS video”>http://vimeo.com/100566278

Special thanks to Andy Laidlaw for jumping aboard the last minute and joining Lucas, Leslie, Tyson, Dick and our stellar GIT Bella as part of the WSE crew.

GIT Class of 2014

July 6, 2014

This year’s guide in training class got off to an early start with a one day training in Boise in June. Josie, Chanz and Bella worked with WSE staff Lucas and Josh on camp games, water safety and an intro to rafting. Sara Anderegg from the Payette Children’s Forest shared environmental education curriculum with our youth leaders.

First year GIT Kyle and second year GIT Gillis will also join WSE on the river this year.

Thank you for generous support from the Green Shanny Foundation for our GIT youth conservation leadership program! http://www.greenshannyfoundation.org
