Summer 2016 and into Fall!

This has been a terrific year for us due to our guides in training–Bella, Josie and Chanz all excelled and greatly contributed to our success.

This season started out with Bella’s Alzar Community Leadership project with WSE on our new river section on the Snake River from Swan Falls to Celebration Park.  She and Dick Jordan planned and carried out a fun, educational trip with refugee students from Hillside Junior High. Bella did a tremendous job and we were impressed and are also excited about the way she kicked off our new Snake River venture. View her video here: Bella Empower Out Video

From Trip Leader and Guide In Training Coordinator Josh Headrick: “Our last Lower Salmon trip of the season ended with a group from the Boys & Girls Club of Ada County, and the 5-day the previous week with the Council/Cottonwood crew. Both trips featured a day of wind and rain to remind us to be thankful of the hot weather, but were a blast nonetheless. Our Guides-in-Training were AMAZING. I cannot stress how proud I am of all our GITs this year but Chanz and Josie both were awesome and I’m happy to announce that they have both been invited back next year as full guides! I know each of you will be as impressed with these young people as I am and I cannot wait to have them more involved with WSE in the future!”

We are looking forward to Fall and 2-3 more trips down the Snake River.
